<Over 250 residents could receive medical checkups and dental treatment from the medical services.>
Project Team 1 of Power Systems PU carrying out a project in northern Philippines volunteered to provide medical services at Rosario, La Union on February 8. The event was organized through local fundraising and volunteers’ participation with full cooperation from the state-operated National Power Corporation (NGCP), local construction companies, regional institutions and churches.
The volunteers provided medical checkups, treatment for small diseases, dental care, and ophthalmic examination for over 250 residents. They also supplied medicine that residents can use in daily life, such as cold medicine and vitamins. In addition, employees and volunteers donated 2 computers, 100 bags and school supplies like notebooks and pencils to students of Bani Elementary School, bringing them a pleasant surprise.
This event was followed by Pastor Aaron Evaristo’s opening prayer, village chief Rodolfo Ramirez’s opening address, and NGCP La Union substation manager Antonio Sandoval’s welcoming speech.
Hyosung’s on-site manager Jeong Seung-geun (Paul Jeong) introduced Hyosung Group to others and talked about the activities carried out in La Union and other areas of the Philippines. He also presented the letters of appreciation to the companies and organizations that successfully led these medical services. He set up the plan for this event and provided opportunities to share love with many people by requesting help and sponsorship from partners such as ACTumang Construction, Tri-Amps Electrical Corporation, Uni-zone Construction Inc., AER Construction, and Solid Construction along with the volunteer committee. Hyosung employees expressed a word of thanks to those who provided support, and enjoyed a pleasant dinner with doctors, nurses, volunteers and hosts of the event.
