Introducing the New Employees of Hyosung

To Be a Creative Global Talent --- It’s Not Hard!”

What are the qualifications for a talented individual demanded by a company? Surely one must have sincerity, follow the deadline, and aim for great performance. However, a member of a company soaring into the world like Hyosung needs one other thing: ‘Creative Global Talent (a competent individual with dreams and talent who do not fear failure)’ that displays unique creativity

Q. What are the requirements for a Hyosung employee to become a ‘Creative Global Talent’?

Park: We must be able to accept new thoughts or ideas flexibly. Such competency can be fostered by encountering new environments and knowledge through reading books in various fields or traveling.

Kim B.: Hyosung Capital PU must be thoroughly prepared to succeed in the global market. One way is to become a Creative Global Talent.’ More specifically, we must persistently study foreign languages and conduct market research with a global mind.

Lee: What we need is ‘confidence’ to help us give full play to our creativity. If we have fear, we won’t be able to display our creativity.

Kim S.: Isn’t it enough just to stick to the basics? Some ways could be observing the proprieties, thorough self-discipline, enterprising mind, and efforts to implement the company’s management philosophy.

Q. What are some challenges displayed at work to become a ‘Creative Global Talent’?

Choi: Currently I’m in charge of system development and maintenance in the IT Support Team. I analyze developed sources and add new logics based on the existing sources. Adding logics to build a more efficient and solid system in the process and struggling with new errors that occur as I change the sources are the biggest challenges that I face.

Hwang: I’m in charge of monitoring businesses that are closed temporarily or shut down, analyzing weekly default rate, and taking anti-fraud actions in the Risk Planning Team. In particular, I’m exclusively responsible for monitoring businesses that are closed temporarily or shut down, which requires cooperation and communication among teams. I’m monitoring those businesses every month and drawing cooperation among teams, thoroughly managing the businesses. This job cannot be done without a challenging spirit and responsibility.

Cho: I support the work-site operations in the IT Support Team like Choi. Developing new business processes requires extra care. I realized from carrying out a project that reducing the tension even for a moment can lead to a huge accident. Even though challenge is also important, but it was a good opportunity for me to learn to be more discreet in the efforts to produce results.

Q. What is your strength in becoming a ‘Creative Global Talent’?

Park: It’s imagination. I imagine how my present task will unfold and think about what I should do to produce better results.

Kim B.: I majored in international trade in university where I could understand international finance and culture codes more deeply. I also majored in visual studies and built background knowledge on various domestic and global cultural contents (film, music, art, etc.). Unfortunately I had no chance to apply these experiences to actual work. But I’m certain that I’ll be able to contribute to strategic planning in persuading global clients when Hyosung Capital PU enters the global market in the future.

Lee: We must be curious about various fields aside from our own duties in order to be a ‘Creative Global Talent,’ because the ability to master a variety of fields is being emphasized as a key element of management. That’s why I constantly strive to acquire knowledge related to culture and arts.

Kim S.: It’s the habit of recording good wordings. I write down anything that’s valuable after reading a book. Whenever I need some time to reflect on myself or want to remember my initial determination, it helps a lot to read what I recorded.

Q. What value of Hyosung Way is required for you to grow into a ‘Creative Global Talent’?

Choi: I think it’s global excellence, because it’s the value of creating competitiveness to win in any situation through ceaseless learning. If we do our best in all tasks with the will to become the best, we will achieve recognition as a Creative Global Talent.’

Hwang: The Risk Planning Team where I belong is a team that requires endless considerations of risk factors as well as the company’s benefits. So we must keep asking ourselves “Why?” and “How?”. The pursuit of innovation to eliminate all inefficiencies that do not add value creates the best working environment. Of course, it’s also the shortcut to becoming a Creative Global Talent.’

Cho: Since I became a Hyosung employee, I could agree without hesitation to the explanation that says innovation “eliminates all inefficiencies that do not add value.” The value of Hyosung Way that won my greatest empathy is innovation, and I was certain that was the way to be a Creative Global Talent.’

Q. What is the future you want to shape in Hyosung?

Park: I want to play the role of designing and materializing the plans for Hyosung Capital PU to successfully enter the global market. I’m dreaming of a promising future and moving forward to achieve that dream.

Kim B.: I would like to be an ‘expert with unique ideas’ that captivate the hearts of global customers. I want to develop financial products that can accurately satisfy their needs when Hyosung Capital PU enters the global market, and produce great results with suitable marketing strategies. That’s why I’ve recently begun studying English and Japanese again.

Lee: Hyosung Capital PU will soon compete with world-renowned companies by enhancing global competence. Then I would like to boldly compete with global competitors as a member of Hyosung Capital PU.

Kim S.: You know what they say about the Michelangelo effect: grasping the partner’s goals and ideals and fully support them to be an indispensable existence for the other party. As such, I would like to be a Hyosung employee who can see others warmly in all positions and embrace them with an open heart.
